peace education and dvelopment foundation

helping it out

Welcome to khurshid khan's Site

The Peace Education And Development (PEAD) Foundation was established in February 2002, under the Trust Act of 1882. The need to take this initiative was felt out of the growing realization that the enormity of socio-economic problems requires a reinforcement of efforts already underway at the government and non-government levels.
While these initiatives are laudable, they are still short of requirements. This daunting challenge, therefore, requires greater involvement of the civil society to address and deal with issues of education, violence, good-governance, human rights, human resource development and political attitudes that obstruct development of a homogeneous, tolerant and enlightened society.
It is against this backdrop that the founding members of PEAD decided to create a platform to address some of these issues of national and regional concern and contribute to the debate on them.
These members, all well-established professionals and technocrats, decided to add their voice and effort to strengthen such initiatives – by the government, regional and international organizations, as well as the civil society – and lay down a charter of objectives and strategy for the PEAD Foundation
